He started his wrestling career in 2006 and spent several years wrestling in various independent promotions before joining the WWE in 2010.

During his time in the WWE, Brodus Clay had a few memorable runs where he was paired with different tag team partners such as Tensai and Titus O'Neil. He also had a gimmick change in 2012 where he became "The Funkasaurus," a dancing and funk-themed character that became popular among fans.
